Our Speech Language Pathologists (SLPS) are licensed in both Speech Language Pathology and Behavior Analysis in New York State. In addition, they are certified by the American Speech and Hearing Association (ASHA) as well as the Behavior Analyst Certification Board (BACB). Our SLP-BCBAs specialize in providing functional speech, language and feeding therapy and evaluations for individuals ages birth through 30 years of age. Our speech, language and feeding therapy sessions can take place at your home, at your child’s school or in their community, or at our office. All Speech and Feeding therapy sessions are scheduled for 60 minutes minimum per week.
With special interest in Childhood Apraxia of Speech (CAS), Augmentative Assistive Communication (AAC), and Verbal Behavior, our SLP-BCBAs conduct comprehensive speech and language evaluations to provide the most accurate picture of each child’s receptive, expressive and pragmatic language skills for both vocal and non-vocal communicators. We excel at establishing positive and playful rapport with your child and tailoring the evaluation to meet their needs and set them up for success. We aim to make each child feel happy, relaxed and engaged from start to finish, while also utilizing behavioral strategies and testing accommodations to obtain your child’s most authentic performance. These evaluations are frequently utilized by parents to inform speech and language goals for their child’s IEP.
Our SLP-BCBAs also specialize in conducting behavioral feeding evaluations. With our unique speech/behavior training, we are able to fully access both the behavioral and medical aspects that may be present and contributing to your child’s difficulties in feeding and mealtimes. Our feeding evaluations provide families with specific recommendations for appropriate and functional next steps, with the health and safety of the client always at the forefront of every report.
